Tamil film fans worried over Rajini's health

Chennai: The Tamil Film industry is worried over superstar Rajinikanth's ill health as he has been admitted to the hospital twice in the last fortnight.
Rumours are rife that his next mega-movie 'Rana' may be shelved.
If his last year's blockbuster 'Endiran' saw Rajinikanth in a double role, then his next, 'Rana' casts the superstar in a triple role! This multilingual film went on floors as scheduled on April 29, but that very afternoon Rajinikanth was admitted to St Isabel's hospital in Chennai for allergic bronchitis and dehydration.
"He was feeling a little uncomfortable, he had little stomach upset. He personally felt, he need to be brought and tested. So doctors said, let him rest for a while," said Rajinikanth's wife Latha Rajinikanth.
Despite assurances from the family and the doctors, the superstar was at the hospital for about a week until May 10.
But on May 13, Rajinikanth was admitted again - this time to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SMRC) at Porur. The superstar is said to be suffering from respiratory and gastro intestinal problems.
"The superstar is fine, there is nothing wrong with him. Theser are just rumours as you know. My request to all his fans and well wishers all over the world, not to take it seriously, it's just a rumour," said Rajinikanth's son-in-law actor Dhanush at SRMC.
Even though Rajnikanth is still in hospital, the first schedule of 'Rana' - including a song featuring Deepika Padukone - has already been canned. Produced by Eros International and Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya, this film's budget is touted to be over Rs 100 crore. Naturally, its director, KS Ravikumar is hoping to have the superstar back on the sets by July when the 2nd schedule of the film is slated to be shot.
