Salman Khan does a cameo in CHILLAR PARTY?

It's known to all that Salman Khan is jointly producing CHILLAR PARTY along with UTV Spot Boy. He is also part of the several promotional videos of the film. Even at the end of Ranbir Kapoor's item number, the kids think about going to Salman Khan for an item song. So one is eager to know if he's also acting in the film.

When we got in touch with co-director Vikas Bahl, he said, 'Salman is not playing a role in the film. He doesn't even have an item number in the film. He is just producing the film. Even in the promotional videos, he's playing the producer.'

Interestingly, Salman was not approached to produce the film. Reveals Vikas, 'Actually, we never approached Salman Khan to be the producer of the film. I wanted him to see the film because I thought the film had his attitude. The children in the film are not at all calculative and that's how kids are. Salman is like the kids. I showed him the film purely to get his reaction. It was our luck that he was so overwhelmed and decided to produce the film. It was a smooth ride from then on. And it wasn't planned at all.'

Speaking about Salman's involvement in the film, Vikas said, 'When Salman decided to produce the film, he didn't ask us to make any changes. We had already made a trailer and wanted him to give his voice for it, which he did. Then we went to him for promos, and he shot them.'

Ask Vikas if the otherwise small film has now become big with Salman Khan and UTV producing it and he says, 'It certainly adds on the pressure. It's a double whammy. At one level, that's exactly what the film desired. We got Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. But the pressure is now on us. The entire world has high expectations from the film now.'

CHILLAR PARTY is about a group of school friends who stand by each other. Talking about having child actors in a film, Vikas opines, 'Kids have a certain innocence, which works beautifully on screen if used correctly. If not used correctly, it can be the most irritating thing.'

Nitesh Tiwari, who is the other co-director of the film, says, 'We chose the kids on certain points. We wanted the kids to be themselves in the film. There was no point to change them. We also did a basic workshop with them.'

CHILLAR PARTY is all set to release this Friday.
