Bollywood Fighting for rights of the '100% love' film

When the South Remake version is ;very popular; menu of the kitchen in Bollywood directors increasingly are turning to the South Indian super-hits. Ghajini (Ghajini), Wanted (Pokiri), and Ready (ready) is a real money churners Bollywood is selling tickets in the last two years.

Joining the trend of Re-make films, not one but four producer Ronnie Screwvala, Vashu Bhagnani, Shatrughan Sinha and David Dhawan-are now vying for the rights for the last super Telugu flick '100% Love'. Since the super hit was directed by Sukumar all producers want to preserve the flavor intact and is ready to sign the rights to their version.

While Vashu Bhagnani and Shatrughan Sinha want their kids, Jackky and Luv respectively, to star in the film, Ronnie and David Dhawan, currently, are only focusing on getting the rights in their hands. Jackky's recent F.A.L.T.U was well received by the audience, but for Luv his only, fiasco Sadiyaan: Boundaries Divide... Love Unites didn't even provide him with a platform to display his potential. So the parents are keeping their fingers crossed, not only to get the rights of the film in place, but also to ensure Sukumar's touch to the remake.

A source says, "Poonam Sinha, who is ready to re-launch Luv, has already met the director for the rights of 100% Love. Vashu Bhagnani is willing to get both the rights and the director for his version.

Ronnie Screwvala has seen the film and wants to speak to Sukumar and David Dhawan too is in talks with the director. What needs to be seen is who emerges as the winner."

Saathiya (Alai Payuthey), Judwa (Hello Brother), Shakti (Anthahpuram), Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein (Minnale), Tere Naam (Sethu) show that the trend of remaking South films into Hindi has existed for a very long time now. All these films went on to become even bigger hits in Bollywood.

It's tough to predict whether the remake of this film will work or not. What we are looking for is who among the four gives their 100 % to impress the director Sukumar and get away with the rights of 100% Love.

Ready : Bollywood movie Review

Are you willing to endure two dozen loud characters one underestimated the Salman Khan? If the answer is yes, the film is ready for you. Salman Khan has almost role in real life, play as Prem Kapoor, Hum Saath Saath Hain bachelor somehow continue the common family. Enter Sanjana (Asin), Runaway Bride, which form in the future bahu Kapoor clan. Anees Bazmee fascinating to keep the audience hanging on his players and the suspension of the hills (No Entry Welcome) will continue to fall in love Sanjana and Prem.

But Sanjana is sandwiched between two ham-burger mamajis (Akhilendra Mishra, Sharat Saxena) who are behind her ancestral assets. Prem befriends the chartered accountant (Paresh Rawal) common to both mamajis, to get close to their families. Bazmee almost revisits his earlier film Welcome, as Prem goes on a family furbishing mode by taming the rowdy ruffians and reuniting the separated siblings in their sixties. 

Remade from the 2008 Telugu film Ready (Genelia D'Souza, Ram), the screenplay is adapted in fast-food format with cliched conflicts and so many characters that you lose count after a point of time. Understanding the character correlations is a task that could even baffle the Barjatyas. The director keeps his task simple by sticking to his brand of loud comedy, over-the-top acts, caricatured characters and silly slapstick. 

The first half involves running around the trees (read beating around the bush) while the actual story starts only in the second half. The graph of the narrative does pick up somewhere in the second half but the tempo falls intermittently thanks to the convoluted writing and the protracted proceedings. By the time the film reaches its melodramatic high-voltage climax giving Salman simulated scope to go topless, it leaves you exasperated. The entire villain tribe is unusually unkempt and intentionally irritating.

 The sidetrack of the pampered spoilt grandson (Mohit Baghel) being subjugated by Salman's buffoonery is annoying. Sajid-Farhad's dialogues don't elevate the humour much and when Salman expresses romance with lines like 'main kutta hoon, yeh kutiya hain', you know the film is going to the dogs. The music is inspired and the action has impact though thankfully not overdone. Salman Khan looks elegant, it is a fabulous screen presence, and it shows in his comfort zone employs his standard set of dance, acting and ability to act. Rather unusual, he understated his role in the second half and does a decent job of it. 

Asin looks great, and shares a nice chemistry Salman. Mahesh Manjrekar, when a person is a loss for words, it takes almost the same barber sign Suniel Shetty has been a decade back in Awara Pagal Deewana. Paresh Rawal is in order. Standup comedy Sudesh Lahiri may be the funniest scenes. Akhilendra Mishra hams outrageously as if he still has a hangover for his Stem Chandra days. Arya Babbar reduced by a younger artist. Nikitin Dheera is not recognized, not that he is a popular face. Child standup comedian Mohit Baghel is annoying. In the midst of cameos, I wonder what Chunky Pandey was making a film? If you are still willing to see the film as Salman Khan, the film is ready for you!

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who dons the superhero suit for the first time in his upcoming film Ra.One, feels that Indian films need to move to the next level technologically to woo young audience.

"Ra.One is not a science fiction film though it is based on computers, which have become integral part of our lives. It's a regular superhero film, which should be a family entertainer," Shah Rukh said. 

He said that talent wise, dance, songs etc Indian cinema was way ahead, but there was dearth on technological front. 

"Indian films need to move to the next level. Dancing, acting, story all is fine, but technology wise we need to move to next level so that we don't lose young audience," he said. 

Shah Rukh said technology forms an integral part of Ra.One, which the actor is hoping will set a benchmark in Hindi cinema in terms of technical finesse. 

The 45-year-old was here to launch the theatrical promo of Ra.One here, which also stars Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor and is directed by Anubhav Sinha. 

Ra.One, he said, is a story of a father and son, and the reason he chose the title was because of it being mythologically popular (Ravan). 

"In this film too, it's fight between the evil and the good. I play Jeevan, protector and giver, the superhero, who is a positive character," he said. 

Ra.One title was picked up because people tend to get excited about by bad guy, said Shah Rukh, adding filmmakers Aditya Chopra and Karan Johar had thought thatJeevan should have been the film's title. 

"All of us will be intrigued who Ra.One is...this film is about making the right choices. People, especially children, need to be careful what they wish for. It is about how children should not make bad choices," he said. 

"This film is about human story, a father, son and wife. It's a superhero versus super villian film," he said, adding in computer language parlance, Ra.One is Randam Acess Version One. 

On whether Indian audience will like this film, he said, "20 years ago I did not know if they were ready for me... It's a regular film, a superhero film with international level of technology used".

Although the film is still in the making, the actor is already thinking of making a sequel. 

"Inshallah (god willing), I would like to make a sequel," he said. 

This month, Shah Rukh's technical team will be headed for Los Angeles to get special sound effects done for the film, which will have never been used earlier in any Indian film. 

Shah Rukh praised Senegalese-American singer Akon, aying he was "very talented, very fast and kicked about" the film. 

When asked about yesteryears star Raj Kiran of Karz fame was found in a asylum in the US, Shah Rukh said he was "shocked and saddened" to learn this. 

"I am learning this from you (media). I have grown up watching him. I am shocked to know about his condition," he said, adding he would join the Bollywood fraternity to do whatever he can under the circumstances for Raj Kiran.

Salman Khan is 'Ready'

Salman Khan has given several memorable and impressive dialogues in his films. Many of them had been penned by his father, Salim Khan, a writer. But, Salman says he believes in delivering his dialogues in such a way that it leaves a long-lasting impression on his audience.

"Each star has a different style of dialogue delivery which makes a particular dialogue unique," Salman said. Stating some of his evergreen dialogues from Bollywood he said, "The dialogues that I like most include Kitne aadmi the?, Basanti, in kutton ke saamne mat naachna, from Sholay and Pyaar se de raha hoon, rakh lo, warna thappad maar ke bhi de sakta hoon from my film Dabangg ."

Sallu claims to have learnt his dialogue delivery tactics from father Salim. "My father has mastered the art of writing breathtaking dialogues. Once he gave me a golden advice. He said, 'Always remember, a film can rock at the box office with its sleek screenplay and amazing dialogues'." Sallu is all set for his upcoming flick Ready and has high hopes from the movie.

"I hope the dialogues in my next film Ready, too are appreciated, just like those of Dabangg. The promos are already getting good responses from fans and the audiences." His film Ready will be releasing in the first week of June.

TV actor Shiv Pandit was never prepared for his first on-screen kiss that he shared with a man in Anurag Kashyap’s Shaitan. He says if he were informed, he would have refused the role. “A lot of scenes were incorporated at the last minute,” he recalls, adding that the ‘truth-and-dare’ game was suddenly introduced during a scene. “We were just following our director Bejoy Nambiar’s instructions and playing along. If I had been informed, it would have stayed in my mind. Sudden incorporations like this kiss have made the film edgier.”

Fortunately, Kalki Koechlin and Kirti Kulhari’s kissing scene had set the mood for Shiv. “Out of nowhere, I was asked to kiss Neil. I did it and Bejoy called ‘Cut!’ It was over within seconds,” he adds, admitting that he instantly ran to the washroom to gargle and clean his mouth. “That took me a few minutes.”

When asked, the Bollywood debutant says that his friends and family have stood by him, without questioning or teasing him. 

“Thankfully, the response so far has been great from family and friends. But I must clear that this scene doesn’t reflect my personal opinion of same-sex relationships,” says Shiv, who’s also looking forward to his Tamil debut, Neelai, produced by V Ravichandran, the producer of Kamal Haasan’s Dashavataram.
